commitment policy

1. Our Philosophy: Development Is a Process, Not a Purchase

At Top Prospects Basketball Academy, we believe that every student-athlete deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, improve, and discover their potential through structured basketball education.

Our academy is built upon a fundamental principle:

True player development requires time, consistency, discipline, education, patience, and a shared commitment between the athlete, parent, and academy.

We do not operate under the belief that meaningful athletic development can be measured by one workout, one performance, one competition, or one temporary setback.

Basketball development is a progressive educational experience involving physical, technical, tactical, cognitive, and personal growth.

Our responsibility is to provide a professional learning environment supported by knowledgeable instruction, intentional developmental planning, measurable objectives, and appropriate accountability.

We ask every family to respect this process.

2. Mandatory Three-Month Minimum Development Commitment

TPBA development programs require an initial minimum commitment of three consecutive calendar months (90-day development period, as applicable to the enrollment dates).

This commitment applies to designated ongoing development services, including individual player development, skill development, game development, and comprehensive player development memberships.

The minimum term is established to allow sufficient time for coaches to:

  • Evaluate the student's abilities, strengths, and developmental needs.

  • Introduce structured instruction and establish foundational learning objectives.

  • Implement individualized or group developmental strategies.

  • Observe learning, comprehension, performance, and behavioral responses.

  • Make necessary adjustments based on progress and identified needs.

  • Assess developmental improvement over multiple training sessions.

The initial three-month period represents a minimum introductory development cycle, not a guarantee of a specific athletic outcome.

Participation in a TPBA development membership constitutes acceptance of this minimum term when included in the signed enrollment agreement, subject to applicable cancellation rights and approved exceptions.

3. The Value of Professional Basketball Development

TPBA services are not valued solely by the number of minutes an athlete spends on the basketball court.

Our professional services reflect the knowledge, preparation, education, infrastructure, and attention required to deliver a structured developmental experience.

The value of our services includes, where applicable:

Professional Instruction: The expertise, experience, preparation, and instructional knowledge of our coaches.

Player Evaluation: The identification of technical, tactical, physical, cognitive, and developmental strengths and limitations.

Curriculum-Based Education: Progressive basketball instruction structured around developmental objectives.

Individualized Development Planning: The establishment and refinement of educational and performance goals appropriate to each athlete.

Performance Observation: Ongoing evaluation of the athlete's execution, comprehension, decision-making, effort, and growth.

Facilities and Development Resources: Access to the designated training environment, technology, equipment, and educational resources included in the enrolled service.

Accountability and Guidance: Professional feedback, standards, expectations, and communication designed to support student improvement.

Our service fees reflect the value of this professional process, not a promise of immediate athletic achievement.

4. Parent and Guardian Commitment

A student-athlete's development is most effective when the academy, athlete, and family share a common understanding of the educational process.

We expect parents and guardians to:

  1. Support the student's opportunity to learn and develop without placing unreasonable expectations on immediate results.

  2. Encourage consistent attendance, effort, discipline, and participation.

  3. Understand that mistakes, corrections, setbacks, and periods of limited visible progress are normal components of learning.

  4. Respect the professional judgment and instructional methods of TPBA coaches while maintaining the right to raise questions or concerns.

  5. Communicate concerns constructively and allow reasonable opportunities for the academy to address them.

  6. Recognize that their own expectations should not undermine the student's confidence, motivation, or willingness to develop.

TPBA strongly encourages families to enroll only when they are prepared to support the student-athlete's development, regardless of the athlete's current skill level or immediate competitive success.

A child should never feel that their opportunity to improve depends on already being successful.

5. Protecting the Integrity of the Development Process

TPBA takes its instructional responsibilities seriously.

Every enrolled student requires dedicated coaching attention, scheduled instructional capacity, preparation, and developmental resources.

When a family commits to a development program, TPBA commits professional time and resources to supporting that student.

We ask families to approach enrollment with the same seriousness.

Repeatedly starting and stopping a structured development program may interrupt learning continuity, limit evaluation opportunities, and make sustained progress more difficult.

For this reason, TPBA maintains a minimum enrollment period for designated development services.

This policy is intended to protect instructional continuity, student opportunity, coaching resources, and program quality—not to discourage parents from raising legitimate concerns or exercising their contractual or legal rights.

6. Understanding Developmental Results

TPBA cannot guarantee that a student will:

  • Earn a position on a school, club, college, or professional team.

  • Receive increased playing time or a starting position.

  • Earn a scholarship, recruitment opportunity, or athletic award.

  • Reach a specific performance level within three months.

  • Improve at the same rate as another student.

Athletic growth varies according to age, physical development, baseline abilities, attendance, effort, health, training frequency, and other individual circumstances.

We commit to delivering the services and professional instruction described in the enrolled program. We do not guarantee outcomes that depend on factors beyond our control.

7. Enrollment, Billing, Cancellation, and Exceptions

The initial development commitment is three consecutive calendar months, with the specific start date, end date, total financial obligation, payment schedule, and services clearly identified in the enrollment agreement.

Monthly payment arrangements, where offered, do not by themselves change the length of the initial contractual commitment.

Requests to withdraw before completion of the initial term will be reviewed under the signed enrollment agreement and applicable law. Early termination, refunds, and payment obligations will be administered in accordance with all mandatory consumer protections and legally required cancellation rights.

TPBA will consider appropriate documented circumstances, including medical limitations, material service interruptions, and other exceptional circumstances in accordance with applicable requirements.

The enrollment agreement will separately explain whether services continue after the initial term, how any renewal works, and how families may cancel future services.

Nothing in this policy limits any cancellation, refund, or other consumer right established by applicable law.

8. A Message to Every Parent

Before enrolling your child, we ask you to consider an important question:

Are you investing in the process of your child's development, or are you expecting immediate proof of athletic success?

There is a meaningful difference.

A young athlete who struggles today may possess the potential to achieve far more tomorrow. Development requires an environment where children can make mistakes, receive correction, build confidence, and grow without prematurely being defined by their current performance.

At TPBA, we do not require an athlete to be exceptional before we believe that athlete deserves quality instruction.

We ask parents to share that belief.

If your family is looking only for instant improvement, guaranteed competitive results, or occasional instruction without a sustained developmental commitment, one of our non-membership services may be more appropriate.

If your family values education, accountability, patience, and meaningful progression, we welcome the opportunity to be part of your athlete's journey.

We teach. We train. We inspire.

9. Parent/Guardian Acknowledgment

By signing the applicable enrollment agreement, I acknowledge that:

  • I understand TPBA's educational philosophy and the purpose of the minimum development period.

  • I understand that designated development programs require an initial three-month commitment, subject to the terms and legally required protections of the signed agreement.

  • I understand that monthly installment payments do not necessarily establish a month-to-month contract.

  • I understand that coaching instruction, educational planning, and evaluation are professional services with value independent of immediate athletic outcomes.

  • I recognize that meaningful development requires consistency, patience, student participation, and family support.

  • I understand that TPBA does not guarantee particular athletic, competitive, or recruiting outcomes.

  • I have been provided an opportunity to review the enrollment terms, payment obligations, cancellation procedures, and applicable consumer rights before agreeing to participate.
